Excerpts from a missive to King Veon from Queen Byakomyun
"...my liege, my knight, I implore your safe return from the lands beyond our own. I know you carry a heavy burden, but in time our peoples will flourish; by their own hands and hearts will they survive. This too, shall pass, and we need not fear the unknown. Too much fear exists in the world now. We must seek love, kindness, forgiveness, mercy... All that is virtuous will prevail. I pray for your success in this mission. Until we meet again, my dearest love and kindest friend."

Excerpts from a missive to Queen Byakomyun from King Veon
"...it pains my heart to be far from you, my dearest. Your understanding is treasured, and I pray you can wait just a little longer still. My efforts have not been in vain. Rouk has learned much in these last moons, and we've gathered plentiful stores from the mountains of the north. I will admit the dwarves are making a fine home there now; its newness does not deter their interest, and I've heard rumors of rich ore there. The foliage is sparse, but I believe with cultivation we can make one of the most fruitful, delectable harvests we've seen in years. I hope Matthias and his farmhands are ready for the work. Peace be with you until we meet again."

Excerpts from a missive to King Veon from Prince Rouk
"...as your last message was delayed, I am sorry to say I did not receive your guidance until after our lucky escape. I will say, your plan would have been far easier. The storms here have been terrible, father, and Harvor and I were holed up waiting day in and day out for the skies to be clear enough to fly. The rust has been a nuisance, but we've been overly cautious keeping the crystal generator dry. However, it has retained enough power that we've been able to keep warm without it running low.
You should have seen Harvor though! A wolf found its way to our den last night, and its snarl made him jump clear to the roof. Once he got his wits back, we made quick supply of it. This morning was foggy but clear, and we intercepted your message on our way to the next island. We should be back in seven days time, just two more stops from here. Take care, and send mother my love."

Excerpts from a missive to Prince Kanrayu from Prince Rouk
"...your latest supply arrived in a timely manner. Thank you, Kan, for being so diligent in this time of need. The grains you sent prior are now sprouting in the fields, and the whole land smells of sweet licorice. Matthias is proud of this crop, and said it will be one of his best yet. He's coming on in age, so young Tannerson has been making the deliveries for him.
Oh, and if you would be so kind as to net another highland goat, I'm sure it would please mother. She means to dress one here for a celebration on your return. It is supposed to be a surprise, so act surprised if you would? Her health has been steady thus far, but the doctors say the more rest the better. I don't think you need to rush. I'll see you soon."

Excerpts from a missive to Prince Rouk from King Veon
"...your expertise in building has far surpassed the legacy your mother left for you. I can tell the tremors have stabilized, and am sorry to hear of Harvor's misfortune. I hope he recovers well and in a timely manner. I am proud of you, and I know your mother would be, too. You'll make a fine king someday, The people of Dolor couldn't dream of a greater leader, and between you and your brother, this land will continue to thrive for many generations to come. I hope you will join me for some flying later today? It would be a nice reprieve from the day's work."

Excepts from a missive to King Rouk from Prince Kanrayu
"...I hope you continue to work with the engineers, you know the mechanics far better than I. However it needs to be done, and I'll see it accomplished.Give me two moons to make arrangements and it should be operational.
As well, the renovations on the southern mountains are almost complete. That latest visit from Tyranesuxix and her brood did us no favors, but we've extended a pact to her and her kin going forward, that should benefit both parties exceptionally well. "
