2018 - Roll20 chat roleplay transcribed - Nick (Thorin), Chantry (Rodrick) and Mason (Hikaru) as Rodrick fixes up Firelord.
Having just landed in the Dwarven Kingdoms, our group disburses after discussing our plans. Preparing to fix up his Firelord mecha, Rodrick hurries about.
Mason: Hikaru looks slightly vindicated and yet nervous about the conversation.
Chantry: Rodrick starts stacking food into a small basket, pausing every now and then before adding a few more delicious things from the table. He looks around at everyone and slowly grabs a few more pieces of food and stacking it on top of the crate.
Nick: Thorin scoffs. “Glutton.”
Chantry: As Rodrick stands up, he glances at a small keg of what he is assuming to be Dwarven ale, and hurriedly grabs it and tucks it under his arm. He grabs one final pastry and shoves it into his mouth, crate in his hands and a keg under his arm, and awkwardly pushes the door open to leave.
Nick: Thorin signals to a dwarven maid with a small push cart to aid Rodrick in transporting his “haul” to his guest quarters.
Chantry: Rodrick mutters his thanks around the large pastry sticking out of his mouth, setting down his haul of food. As he grabs ahold of the cart, he spies a bowl of sweets and quickly whisks it off the table and onto his cart. "Mechanic work makes me hungry..." He mutters.
Nick: “Not again.”
Mason: Hikaru sighs heavily and scratches the back of his head.
Chantry: Rodrick climbs inside the cockpit of Firelord and begins unbolting a panel and throwing parts out and across the floor. "Outdated. Junk. Broke. What the... why did I put this in here?!"
Mason: "Cuz you thought it looked cool, Rod."
Chantry: "It doesn't even look cool! it's a recipro-coil. Serves no purpose in this particular place in the cockpit!"
Mason: "You're the one who put it there! Why did you put it there if there was no purpose!"
Chantry: "I literally have no idea... Maybe I was drunk...?"
Mason: He eyes the massive bladed two-handed sword lying in the crate next to Firelord. It looks strange, the hilt and blade having what looks like ports evenly spaced along the sides. "How are the pistons?"
Chantry: "Completely junked. They need totally rebuilt. As well as the valves... and Crank... and cams..." With each new part, he throws something else out of the cockpit.
"Hikaru... what would you think about me trying to retro-fit Firelord with that Thermo-dynamic generator system I made a while ago?"
Mason: "That might work better than the steam powered engine from before."
Chantry: "Ugh. steam power. I HATE STEAM POWER! Completely underpowered and over complicated..." Rodrick rips the water tank off and throws it to the floor.
