Delilah is heading back toward the castle with a large bucket of water. The nearby river is low, but will likely be overflowing by springtime. She stops short, suddenly spotting a friend. She walks over with a smile, "Hiya Mutiger! Out for a walk? Or are you going hunting?"

"A walk. It's beautiful now. I wish I had this time before."

She nods. "It is nice. This is a good country. I hadn't had a chance to visit it before, but I'm glad to be here now. Despite the circumstances."

She looks rather taken aback, then looks down. "M-me too. But... We will get through this together, right? We've... We've been through worse."

Mutiger looks up at her. "Will I fail? Will... I..." At this point he bursts into tears.

Delilah stares for a moment, up at this imposing member of their group who has been nothing but a bastion of stoic strength, at least for all the time he's been with them. "N-no, Mutiger, not at all! You-- you and the rest of us, we won't fail." She sets her bucket down gently and puts a hand on his arm.

"I failed before. They needed me. And I wasn't there. I can still feel the fire. Smell the smoke. 'Live on' they said. 'There's nothing more you can do.' So I left. I took the relics and I left." He looks at her his eyes wet and glistening. "What if I leave again? What if I'm not here to keep you safe?"

"Well I--" she guides him to sit down, and sits nearby. She is eager to help him relax. "I remember us not lettin' ya leave when we first met you! We practically dragged you on board the Skyshadow outa that ocean..." She smiles, trying to be humorous.

"On one hand I don't think you'd leave. But, I mean, you aren't..." she struggles with the right way to say it. "You aren't required to be here. To fight this fight. None of us are, I suppose, but..." she trails off. "Your life is yours. We can't force you you stay, or guilt you for leaving. That's not fair to you."

He looks her in the eye. "I want to keep you safe." He puts his hand on her arm. "No matter what."

She sheepishly responds with a chuckle, "Well you accomplished that... All of y'all. Even death couldn't keep me with you lot around."

He nods, and wipes his eyes with the back of his hand. He stands up. "I promised to help you train."

She looks up at him, "Oh! That's right." She grabs her things, standing up too. "Well... Where would you like to go?"

"Why not here?" He grins. "Try to knock me down."

"Oh, uh.." She gives him a funny look. "Knock YOU down?"

She looks like she greatly doubts her ability to do that.

He laughs. "Yes." He says simply folding his arms.

(Rolled a 5.. Even if I were to use modifiers I have a +0 XD)

She sets her things down again, sizing him up. She walks around him, trying to contemplate how she could take him down. "Um..." Delilah hesitates, then rushes at him. As soon as she makes contact, she practically bounces off of him, staggering backwards. "I don't think I can even budge ya!" She laughs, regaining her balance.

He laughs again. "Use your strength."

"But I ain't got a lot of that!" She smirks and readies another run, but this time trying to focus on one of his legs. She goes in from the side toward his knee (Rolled a 15 XD)
(Is that with modifiers?)

(+0 str...yeah. lolol. Raw roll for.. Something I guess )|

(20 not natural.) She thuds into his legs which seem to be iron posts. Mutiger looks down at her with an infuriating grin on his face.

She huffs, and backs up again, rubbing her shoulder. "I think I'd have better luck with the pine trees...geez..."

(Rolled an 8, then 18 ) Delilah rushes him again, bouncing off a second time. Finally she goes after his side, grabbing and twisting his arm behind him to try to pull him off balance.

Mutiger grunts as she pulls him back but barely maintains his footing. (A 17 to resist being pulled. Str. And an 18 to maintain his balance.) "A pine tree isn't as stubborn." He yanks forward with his arm. (11)

(6 to resist the pull, 9 for a tumble check.. Tho that's probably 3.5 edition lol)

Delilah strains to hold her footing but yelps as she is easily aside. She tumbles through the needles, out of breath. "Stubborn is a good way to put it," she grumbles, standing up and brushing off the leaf litter.

Circling again around him, she leaps up and tries grabbing his horns to yank him backward. (12)

She pulls his head back. However she ends up dangling from the horns as he pulls his head forward. (22 with disadvantage.) He then swings his head forward. (12 with disadvantage.)

She yelps again as she's yanked off the ground. As he swings his head forward, she hurriedly lets go just in time (13) so she isn't sent flying from several feet in the air.
Mutiger grins and says. "Better."

She tries to regain her focus to tackle him while he's bent forward, but stumbles. Her body is getting a bit too tired. (3) Scrambling back away so she isn't stepped on, she leans against a tree to catch her breath.

"Suuuure... Sure..." She chuckles, waving her hand flippantly.

Mutiger doesn't seem even winded. "Shall we continue?"

(20 not natural by the way)

"We can continue another time."

She sizes up her target again. Her brow furrows, and she kneels down to rush him again....

Lunging forward she tries for his knees again. At the last second she feints (24 deception) and dodges around him, taking a jabbing punch behind each knee. (14 and 15 acrobatics)
(15 acrobatics again) She grabs his arm again, twisting and pivoting against his own weight, her boot on the back of his knee, atop his left calf--forcing it to stay bent.

Mutiger stumbles to his knees. Then as she twists his arm he twists it back (19) with her in front of him he says. "Well done."

"It took me the better part of two days to topple my mentor. Now he, he was a tree." His eyes get a faraway look.

She lets go, dropping to the ground again. "He taught you well. You're a good teacher." She smiles, catching her breath again as she sits down on a felled trunk. "I'm... I'm sorry to hear about your family. Your people..." She looks a little crestfallen. "...What happened to your home, Mutiger? Who took it from you?"

He looks up at her and utters one word. "Tarj."

Delilah feels the weight of his stare and seems to shrink beneath it. The name of her god burns in her ears.

She looks away ashamedly. She was worried to ask, but somehow... she wasn't surprised. Nor did she doubt his claim. But nonetheless, her heart seemed to suffocate at the answer.

Mutiger takes her hand in both of his. "Remember when you first saw me? You seemed afraid. I myself had lost faith in people." He puts her hand on his chest. "What's in here changed the way you saw me." He then reaches out to put a hand on her chest. "What's in here is good. It always has been. You are not what the church has done." He grins slightly. "If you were Rodrick and Hikaru would have left you in a ditch."

She thinks on that for a good moment and snorts. "Yes. Yes they just might have, I suppose. But we've all come a long way, haven't we?"

She sighs. "I used to be like the church... Before you ever met me. The others saw, a bit back then I mean... I'm ashamed of it now. But I have changed. You all have shown me in your own ways how to righteously judge. Not like Tarj, but... But with my own eyes. My own mind. You're all fantastic, amazing people."

Mutiger looks her deep in the eyes. "I find it hard to believe you ever slaughtered innocents for one guilty individual. You and Mr Luther had a hard time judging the guilty alone. You would never harm an innocent to destroy them. That is what makes you special."

She sighs, looking away. "That's... That's true. I've never done that. But I... I was a believer." Delilah shakes her head, both pained and disgusted with herself. "I supported them. I believed in their messages. Their tenants. I turned a blind eye to what atrocities they did, if we ever heard of them, considering it the greater good. But it's not. It never was."

She looks down. "I'm sure many other patrons are the same. They just..... Don't know. They're blind by falsities. But selective knowledge is just ignorance. I want to spread real knowledge. Real truth."

"Then we will." He says simply. He stands up and holds out his hand. "Together."

"Yeah..." She sighs and looks up with a smile. "You're right. We shall." Standing with his help, she retrieves her bucket of water and gear. "Shall we head back then?"

Mutiger nods and gestures for her to lead the way.
